About the Project

During the late 1980s the Historical Society cooperated with the Northville District Library on this Oral History Project. More than 100 long-time residents participated in the interviews and many volunteers worked many hours to transcribe the cassettes (assisted by two Scout Troops). Funding for the project was provided by the Friends of the Library and the Northville Historical Society. Digital audio files and searchable versions of the documents now are available online. Learn about the history of Northville as experienced by those who lived it and helped create it. Read an article about this project (Northville Record, November 30, 1995). Videos were added to this service in December 2016.
